Have you tried a system restore? Maybe the settings are saved and would revert it back to what it was. Just a thought.

My guess would be a corrupted graphic driver file, or its registry association.

I just fixed a similar issue on a comp 2 days ago.

Delete the card from the hardware profile and reboot to re-install...if the driver is found and loaded ok then well and good, but in my case the same file was still corrupted and I had to re-install from the backup disk...it was an Acer comp, btw...

What Graphic card do you have and does display properties show the correct monitor info...??

Try re-installing the driver of your graphic card. I had the same problem and I had fixed it in the same way. Might work for you.................
